Ballyhaise (Irish: Béal Átha hÉis, meaning "Entrance to the Ford of the Rapid water") is a village in County Cavan, Ireland. It is situated some 7 km (4.5 miles) north-northeast of Cavan Town. The River Annalee flows near the town. The village of Ballyhaise is located within the parish of Castletara and contains both Roman Catholic and Church of Ireland churches. The village itself is home to Ballyhaise GFC, the local Gaelic football team, their home pitch being Annalee Park, the biggest Gaelic football pitch in County Cavan[citation needed]. In addition to this the village was for many years home to Castletara Youth Band - an accordion marching band which won multiple All-Ireland titles in the late 1990s and early 21st century.
